Dear Amare-Amuri,
At no point in time
Did I ever not love
To sing praises to God
At no point in time
Did I ever doubt my purpose
In my life journey
Which was to speak up
For the maligned and the ignored
In society
And to be a blessing
And a joy
Wherever I go
At no point in time
Did I ever not love
Being my silent, quiet self
But people and society
Have tried to bend me to be more
Verbally expressive more and more
And I am not liking that at all
It goes against the nature
That God gave me.
All my love,
Mama
